About
I am Tony.
I run Streetball Strategies, a YouTube channel about the mental and psychological side of recreational basketball. Confidence, basketball IQ, plateaus, and the mindset traps that stall rec players.
I was not born with standard basketball talent. I am not tall. At best I was average in speed, quickness, and jumping ability. I am also very nearsighted, with sensitivity to light. Every court I stepped on, I was automatically the least talented player out there.
But I loved the game, and I wanted to compete with anyone. So I started exploring the parts of basketball everyone else ignored. The mental side. The small strategic edges. Over time those small advantages, stacked with hard work, took my game to heights I never imagined.
I retired from playing 15 years ago. These days I study the game, I lift, I have spent 25 years in the weight room, and I teach what I learned: the smartest player beats the most athletic player.
This is not a channel about ankle breakers or highlights. It is for serious recreational players who want to discover the depths of their own potential using strategies more gifted players would never even consider.
